Pictures of David Carradine’s Dead Body Published

June 7, 2009

I think the headline speaks for itself.  On its cover and inside pages, an overseAs tabloid published photos of David Carradine’s body, naked and hanging inside his hotel room wardrobe.

More on this sick sh*t here

Update Monday June 8th, 2009

From TMZ

Another woman from David Carradine‘s past is talking about the actor’s penchant for auto-erotica — claiming he would spend days planning to construct elaborate sexual devices.

Carradine’s third ex-wife, Gail Jensen, dropped more personal bombshells in an interview with Patricia Towle this weekend, saying “David was pretty strange. He would like to get tied up. He would tie himself up and I would walk in and see him and say ‘Oh my God, David, you got to be kidding me — and I would (turn around and) walk out. I would leave him to his own devices.”

Jensen added, “He liked to be tied up. And he could tie himself up … He spent days planning a different feature. He would go to a hardware store and buy the stuff.”

We spoke with Jensen, who told us although David liked tying himself up “it was never sexual.” She says he liked bondage but never choked himself. Then again, they divorced in 1997.

Last week, TheSmokingGun.com published legal documents from Carradine’s 4th wife, detailing David’s “potentially deadly” sex habits.

***

David Carradine‘s hands were tied above his head when he died — turns out, in the world of auto-erotic suspension, it’s an easy task to master.

Brent Turvey, a forensic scientist and criminal profiler who has studied auto-erotic asphyxiation, has examined the photo of Carradine’s body published in a Thai newspaper. The photo shows the body with a rope around his neck hanging in a closet … Carradine’s hands were tied above his head.

Turvey says it’s simple for someone to tie rope around his/her hands, by loosely tying the hands in front — then raising them up to tighten.

Turvey says undoing the knot is easy as well, allowing for a quick escape.

Turvey says, “By tying his hands above his head, and bending his knees in a sitting position, he can easily stand up and untie his hands with his teeth. Choking in this position is an accident that usually results from the rope being left on the neck a few seconds too long.”

Since we first reported Friday that Carradine’s hands may have been tied, there has been a lot of speculation it’s evidence of foul play. But apparently it’s actually consistent with accidental death.

***

We’ve just seen a higher resolution image of the photo that appears to be David Carradine‘s body hanging in his hotel room — and it shows what seems consistent with an auto-erotica scenario … at least from outward appearances.

The photo — published by a Thai tabloid — shows a body suspended from a bar in a closet, with his hands bound together above his head. Carradine’s genitals were also tied.

But the new sharper image also reveals what appears to be fishnet stockings covering the body. You can also see red women’s lingerie on the bed. And, it appears, Carradine may have been wearing a dark wig.

Although there are signs this could have been a sexual act that turned accidentally deadly, family sources say they are still suspicious of the circumstances and have not ruled out homicide.

Hello, David Carradine was a one of a kind Actor, his legacy should be one of respect and admiration. The photos of his demise being published should be treated as “someone tampering with evidence” in an active criminal case and be prosecuted by law enforcement.

The Ny times did a great obituary on Mr Carradine if anyone is interested.

The tabloids probably shouldn’t have printed the pictures but David Carradine probably shouldn’t have been tying himself up just so he could get off. Poor guy had some problems and shouldn’t have seeked help.

    I don’t know, Shannon. That’s a bit cruel, don’t you think?
Granted, it’s good to be concerned about the big issues, but the reason why Carradine’s death is a big deal is because he was indeed a celebrity-he left his mark on the film world.
After all, he is the original “Kung Fu” mofo. XD

    Was he a perv?
That’s objective too… I mean, some people are really just into that sort of shit.

Someone well-known died, so people are gonna talk about it.

  18. June 8, 2009 11:46 am

Surely it must be better to investigate first then let the press publish pictures. And it would be nice if the press would be more respectful of a person, and family’s privacy.

Come on…a pervert??? Just because he had a slightly kinky way of expressing his own private sexual desires? He might have paid the ultimate price in the end, and I guess we might never truly know if it was a just a horrible accident but at the end of the day his sexual preferences were his own and assuming he was not forcing anyone else to do something they didn’t want to at the same time then I think calling him a pervert is ridiculous. That just shows ignorance and a closed mind. That is how prejudice and hatred is bred. And personally I think we have quite enough of that in the world already.

I did not know this man as an actor or anything else, and I agree that the publication of pictures of his body are unacceptable and disgraceful and will only serve to bring his family more pain. But he was a human being and to berrate him for something that was his own business but went horribly wrong is also distasteful in my opinion.

Thank you Smilersmusings, I completely agree with what you said in such a respectful way. There was a singer several years ago who never got to be famous, and he would have. He died the same way. I really do wonder how many people actually die from this every year. It is private, and was meant to stay that way. I think it would be great to remember David Carradine, the actor. He was one of a kind, and my husband and I will miss his acting in the future. Also thank Quentin Tarantino for really bringing Him back and giving him more glory. He really was talented.

The sad whispers of a true “Living Legend”!

A man is barely pronounced gone, before the fame seeking buzzards are circling. How desperate are people to get their fifteen minutes of fame, when they feel the necessity to devulge what should be, one’s own right to privacy be it true or false.

Were they brave enough to discuss such things when he was alive?
As heartless as it seems, one would have to think not! What’s truly sad is, the buzzards know that sex sells and the celebrity only adds fuel to the fire, marking him the true “Living Legend” that he was!

Don’t we watch movies and awe at the steamy sex seens? Ones that are more than “missionary”. Yet in real life it’s perverted?

And I love the “defense” people have for his silly sexual practices. He’s suddenly not a perv because this was his own business? If I used that same defense for child pornography watchers (not the ones that actually molest children) then I’d be terribly wrong, wouldn’t I? It’s not about having a narrow mind. That shiz is just plain crazy, and sure, it gets you off, but at what cost? Apparently your life. I’ll stick to porn, thank you very much. And like someone said earlier, let’s worry about our freakin economy and other ‘issues’ surrounding us day to day. This isn’t news. The man died… it doesn’t really matter how or why he took his own life. Whether he was really into that stuff sexually or not, I think it’s horrible that it’s being exploited the way it is. Yeah, obviously he was famous and people may find the story interesting, but for a man to be in the tabloids as a sexual deviant AFTER he dies is just downright low. I imagine his family and friends are pretty angry about this, excluding the shameless starf*cker ex-wives who have no decency and just want to be famous themselves. Gross.

I have my doubts about the validity of this claim. I cannot believe that anyone would cruel or stupid enough to release such pictures for public viewing. How he died is sad enough, but to post pictures of him post mortem would be sadistic.

It’s interesting also to see how many of us ended up this page out of curiosity. As disgusted as we are about the prospect of someone posting the pictures; nevertheless we came.

  65. June 11, 2009 9:23 am

I think people (media) should not sensationalize anyone’s death. I am sure his family is having a rough time with this, and it’s so disrespectful. We should be looking to what he accomplished in his lifetime, rather than try and figure out why he died, or focus on the morbid side of this.
