Obama regrets his best move in weeks: TV interview with daughters

It’s hard for me to even say that…as a parent I know all too well the desire to protect one’s children, so as a father, I can understand why Obama regrets the fact that his daughters are all over the news after they, along with their famous parents, gave an interview to Access Hollywood.  Trust, no one was more shocked than I, when that breaking news tidbit came across the feed.  Here is a snippet:

So, as I said, I understand, completely that he is taken aback by the fact that Access Hollywood sold that tape to anyone and everyone who could pay the note.  I giggled when you hear Brian Williams say something to the effect of “one of two clips we’ve been given to show you…”

You lie Brian.  NBC paid for that just like eveyrone else.

But I’ve gotten off topic.

Again, just to say it outloud, I understand fully his concern as a father…

But as a politician?  That was pure genius.  Everyone was starting to get really, really bored with the lack of anything new in recent weeks, I know I was.

When I watched the first half of the interview my face hurt I was smiling so much.  Seeing the girls and how at ease they were was just brilliant, truly.

He may feel that their privacy as a family took a hit, but he shouldn’t look at it that way.

Instead he should realize the wicked advantage he has over John McCain.  Let’s compare the two families:

Lest we forget, their is the pre POW family for McCain, and the post.  We know that he left his first wife after coming home, and, as it were, after she was in a horrible accident that disfigured her.  She insists her accident had nothing to do with their divorce, but at the same time acknowledges that Johnny boy wanted a newer, fresher model that would remind him of his youth; Cindy “my face never moves”, McCain (Oh, yeah–and she set up a children’s charity to score opiates for her own habit–then cruelly dismissed the director when the story was about to go public).

Calm down, calm down; that wasn’t a mean statement, it was a trutful one.  She me some pictures of video of Cindy McCain’s forehead moving like a normal woman of 54, and I’ll recant that statement.

(But come on, don’t you think it’s strange that at 17 years younger than Johnny, she actually looks as old as him because she’s had so much work done?)

Back to the family comparison: We never see Bridget McCain doing interviews with her dad, like his other daughter, Meghan, who looks like she stepped out of an episode of the Hills.  All Meghan ever talks about is the “best” qualities of her father, and insists he will be a great President.  She never, ever talks about the things Johnny does wrong…like calling Cindy a cunt, for example.

But with the Obama girls, we know that Barack leaves his shit all over the house, that he doesn’t do ice cream, and that he only chews minty gum.

We also learn that the girls like the fact that their parents are in love; while not using that exact verbage, they still made it very clear.  Michelle and Barack cuddle, hold hands, and kiss.  Barack brings his wife flowers regularly (damn good moe there, Barack), and Michelle still sits on her man’s lap every now and then, to hold and be held.

Pump yer breaks.

Close your eyes and picture Cindy on Johnny’s lap.  It’s not happening.  It’s just not happening.  First of all, it’s beneath her and ight wrinkle her clothes.

Second of all, when you have a man that is that verbally abusive to you, that he would call you a cunt and do so when other people are around.

You don’t jump from zero to cunt.  There were some other incidents between them to get there, and I’m not inclined to believe, in general, that their’s is a healthy relationship, I’m just not.

I am not impress by a husband with a temper, a wife with such low self esteem she had to hire Joan Rivers’ plastic surgeon, who are parents of an “adopted daughter” they treat like a token charity case.  That is not the model family.

I want a First Family that is real, and relatable.  When Maria asked Michelle what romantic things she does for her husband, Michelle said “hmmm…(looking to her man), I raise your children”.

You can’t get more real than that.

So, what is in a “ghetto” name?

First of all, here is my two cents on this issue.  I would be suing the hell outta the school, on behalf of the yearbook committee for this.  I know some of you think that’s silly or even insane, but let me tell you something:  I don’t care.

This report from the AP:

COVINA, Calif. - Phony “ghetto” names were printed under a yearbook photo of Black Student Union members at a suburban Los Angeles high school, leaving some angry students and parents calling for an apology and a reprint.

“Tay Tay Shaniqua,” “Crisphy Nanos” and “Laquan White” were among the nine names placed next to the club’s photo in Charter Oak High School’s yearbook, Charter Oak Unified School District Superintendent Clint Harwick said.

“A yearbook is very significant and something you always hold on to,” said Toi Jackson, whose daughter, Evanne, is a BSU member at the school in Covina. “When she shows it to her kids she will have to explain why she has the name Crisphy.”

School ended about two weeks ago, and authorities said the names were discovered only after the yearbooks were handed out.

“Someone was just trying to be funny, but it’s not funny,” said Jordan Smith, a BSU member. “It’s upsetting. It’s a mistake that should not have been overlooked.”

Board president calls it ‘atrocious’
The district office and the school were closed Friday. Joseph M. Probst, the school board’s president, called the incident “atrocious” in an interview with the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.

“I am sure the students will be spoken to and given an apology if they haven’t been already,” he said.

Probst said the student responsible for the names will be a senior next year. He did not know the student’s race or gender but said that “appropriate actions will be taken.”

Students were given printed stickers with the correct names to put into the yearbook.

But some of the BSU members and their parents want the books recalled and reprinted. Toi Jackson told the Tribune that on the last day of school, her daughter was given a handful of stickers and told to pass them out to her friends.

“How humiliating,” she said. “The school is responsible, and they ask the victim to pass out the stickers.”

Officials at the 2,000-student school about 30 miles east of downtown Los Angeles say the student body is about 4.5 percent black, 45 percent Hispanic and 30 percent white.

Rumor: Austria’s Elisabeth Fritzl prepares to go on TV for first interview

May 18, 2008

Elisabeth Fritzl Elisabeth Fritzl will be interviewed by the same reporter who spoke to Natascha Kampusch

Elisabeth Fritzl is to talk about the 24 years she was imprisoned in her father’s dungeon on Austrian TV.

Miss Fritzl, 42, is thought to have chosen the same interviewer who spoke to Natascha Kampusch about the eight and a half years she was imprisoned in a cellar.

Miss Kampusch, now 20, escaped in August 2006 and told of her ordeal on Austrian ORF TV.

Miss Fritzl could make millions of pounds in syndicated rights for the interview. It is thought that more than 300 TV stations will broadcast it.

She is expected to talk about the first time she was raped by her father Josef, 73, and how she coped with multiple births alone in the dungeon.

The interview has been organised in part to reduce the pressure on the family from photographers camped at the door to Amstetten-Mauer hospital where Miss Fritzl is in a secure ward with her mother Rosemarie, 69, and five of her six children.

Miss Fritzl’s eldest daughter Kerstin, 19, is still in a coma.

Josef Fritzl is to undergo DNA testing to see if he is the killer of three women whose murders have remained unsolved in Austria.

Natascha Kampusch broke free from an eight-and-a-half year captivity in August 2006 and told the world of her ordeal on ORF TV in her homeland.

Media reports in Austria say that Elisabeth is now poised to do the same after marathon negotiations between the TV station and her lawyer.

Upwards of 300 TV stations globally will pay handsomely to beam it live or in repeat showings.

Media in Austria said none of the children - either the three she gave birth to who lived upstairs from her underground tomb nor the two of three healthy ones forced to endure her captivity below - will be in the studio with her.

Christoph Feurstein, the journalist who interviewed Natascha for her first - and subsequent - TV appearances, has been lined up for what promises to be a gripping television spectacle.

It is expected to be broadcast next Monday evening (May 26).

Elisabeth is also expected to talk about how she felt after one of her stillborn child was burned in a stove by her father after it died; how she thought she would never see sunlight again; and her hopes for a more normal future with the children who adore her.

“Elisabeth’s hatred of her father is a bottomless pit,” said one ORF source.

“It might not be good for the psychological healing process but Elisabeth’s heart pumps nothing but pure venom for him.”

It is unclear whether she will have to wear tinted glasses for the interview. Her eyes are still very weak from years of never seeing sunshine and high-powered studio lights could, fear doctors, be too much for her.

There is increasing tension between authorities and paparazzi who know that a picture of Elisabeth or her children would be worth hundreds of thousands of pounds.

Josep Fritzl arrest photoMonster: Josef Fritzl confessed to holding his daught captive for 24 years and fathering seven children

In a weekend fracas a security guard at the hospital was injured after he fell from a balcony while tackling a photographer.

Hospital officials confirmed that 17 lensmen have been caught in recent weeks trying to get into the Amstetten Mauer hospital.

They included one dressed as a policeman, another that disguised himself as a cleaner and a third who dug a hole in the grounds, filled it with provisions and then covered himself with a bird watcher’s hide in the hope of the life-changing picture.

He was caught by a sniffer dog while several others hiding in trees have been rumbled with thermal imaging cameras provided by local mountain rescue guides usually used to spot trapped climbers or stranded skiiers.

Austrian media also reported yesterday that a hospital worker had taken secret pictures of the family and was offering them for sale at 300,000 euros - £260,000.

Officials have sent a letter to staff warning them that there will be legal consequences and a claim for damages that would “far exceed any profit made from the sale of such photos.”

The Fritzl family staying at the clinic include Elisabeth and her two children from the cellar Stefan, 18, and Felix six, and her three children that lived in freedom - Alexander 12, Monika 14 and Lisa 15.

Elisabeth’s mother Rosemarie is also in the hospital.

Daughter Kerstin, 19, the third cellar captive, is still in a coma. Meanwhile Josef Fritzl is to undergo new DNA testing to see if he is the killer of three women whose murders have gone unsolved in his homeland.

Police chief Franz Polzer says he is being considered as a suspect in the 1986 murder of 17-year-old Martina Posch, and two other murders in 1966 and 2007.

Also on Sunday another major newspaper, the Kurier, asked the question in a headline: “Is Austria the heart of darkness?”

It said that 64 percent of Austrians believe the image of the country has been damaged as a result of the Amstetten case.
